Inner City Sounds – Gritty Soul & Underground Funk from the Vaults Of Inner City Records
October 15, 2011
Ultra-rare and unreleased raw funk and gritty Soul vibes. Original West-coast old-school party jams. Recording sessions of funk 45s in the back of Oakland record stores. Playing with Cheech & Chong. Chillin’ with Al McKay of the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band. This was the scene of Inner City Records, a Funk label from the late-60s and 70s based out of California. Breaks, beats and boogie.
