Through My Lens

Finally getting around to sharing some photo collections that I’d been meaning to go through for quite some time. Spent most of the past year sans camera since mine had an irreparable spot on the lens, but my wife’s Canon S90 was great to put in my pocket and snap the majority of the collections below. Glad to finally have a camera again, now it’s time to do some long-overdue shooting.

Lack of multiple batteries on the S90 caused my day to be cut short while at the procession for the Jui Tui Shrine during the Phuket Vegetarian Festival in October 2012. Included are shots of the spirit mediums (mah song) getting pierced inside the Jui Tui Shrine, some of the procession itself, and, unfortunately, just a few of my favorite part, the ‘eiw geng’ procession at the finale. For more comprehensive sets of the Vegetarian Festival, check The Goldbrick Gallery.

Random collection of photos taken over the course of the past year. Among the snapshots, you’ll see scenery that I’ve taken in countless times while riding the ferry and bus from Koh Samui to Phang Nga; Loy Krathong Day; Christmas; holidays at Banyan Tree; market and shops in Thai Muang, Phang Nga; local life and scenery in Surat Thani, Krabi, Phuket and Phang Nga; and chillin’ around the house in Don Sai, Phang Nga and here at home in Lamai, Koh Samui, Surat Thani.
